OBJECTIVE: To systematize and discuss the effects of tDCS in the treatment of pain in patients with fibromyalgia when compared or associated with other techniques.

METHODS: Articles published in the period from 2015 to 2020 selected from the Scielo, MEDLINE and PEDro databases were included. Selected articles were evaluated using the PEDro scale, those that did not obtain a score greater than or equal to 6 were excluded.

RESULTS: Eight articles were selected, with a total of 304 individuals. 5 articles demonstrated positive effects of anodic stimulation on M1 and 3 on CPFDL (Table 1). Studies have shown that the technique is safe and has few adverse effects, which are mild.

CONCLUSIONS: ETCC proved to be effective in modulating pain in patients with fibromyalgia
